Today most lenders rate your credit based on your credit scores.  Credit scoring is a system creditors use to help determine whether to give you credit, and how much to charge you for it.  There are three credit repositories where creditors report your payment history. Based on payment history, age of credit, balances and other factors a credit score is derived. A total number of points "A Credit Score" helps predict how creditworthy you are. Generally consumers with higher credit score are considered a good risk.
